FAFSA Application Process Opens October 1, 2016 Applications for the 2017/2018 FAFSA became available to submit on October 1, 2016. This year’s application will use the tax information from the 2015 year. The application must be submitted before March 2, 2017, but check when deadlines are for the college you intend to attend. JCYC Scholarship Program is now open! On February 1, 2017, JCYC launched their new scohlarship program. Recognizing a need for funds to access higher education within our student population, JCYC has pledged to award $20,000 in scholarships to high school seniors that are participants of JCYC programs. Seniors who will be enrolled full time in a 2 or 4 year college during the 2017- 2018 academic year, with a current cumulative, unweighted GPA of 2.0 or higher are eligible to apply. Priority will be given to those that demonstrate financial need or who will be first in their families to attend college. Students are eligible to apply regardless of their citizenship status. Note that this scholarship is specifically for students that are current participants of JCYC programs, and not open to previous participants or alumni. See your JCYC staff member to get an application and more details today! JCYC ETS Career Day JCYC Educational Talent Search is organizing Career Days at our five local middle school sites. Professionals, from industries and fields such as: food, law, medicine, entertainment, media, engineering, science, and more, will introduce 11 through 13 year olds to their career and help students connect their studies to possible future careers. Carrer Day will be taking place: Francisco Middle School March 17th (9:15 am to noon) Pollicita Middle School March 31st (8:30 to 11 am) If you are interested in speaking at one of these events or have any questions, please contact Kristin Tatum at ktatum@jcyc.org. MYEEP Applications for the summer session will be available begining March 13, 2017. SF YouthWorks Applications for the summer session will be available beginning March 13, 2017. Chibi Chan Preschool will be holding an online auction from March 23, 2017 to April 4, 2017. Proceeds from the online auction will go towards purchasing new supplies for our classrooms. SFCAC's "Educated&" Campaign The Educated& campaign is the San Francisco College Access Center's (SFCAC) newest fundraising effort, selling an empowering line of t-shirts that includes inclusive slogans to promote education for all. All funds raised will be awarded to students enrolled in SFCAC's summer program.
