The Student Work Experience Program (SWEP) provides youth with job readiness skill training, paid work experience and personal development support. SWEP specifically works with high school students from CalWORKs-eligible households, foster care homes and transitional-aged emancipated foster youth (18-22).  SWEP participants are placed at a diverse range of worksites, varying from private businesses to non-profit organizations and city government agencies.
