Board Recruitment
The JCYC Board of Directors provides strategic leadership to contribute to the success of the organization. The board is legally and fiscally responsible for the organization and its activities.
Currently, there are 14 members of the board, representing a diversity of backgrounds and interests, who serve 2-year terms.
The board subcommittees are: Governance, Operations (HR), Finance, External (PR/Marketing, Fundraising), Finance, and Audit.
JCYC is a multi-service community organization serving over 5,000 children and youth annually from all ethnic backgrounds and San Francisco communities.
The mission of JCYC is to cultivate and enrich the lives of children and youth from diverse, multi-cultural communities throughout San Francisco and beyond. We provide a comprehensive continuum of care from preschool to college and empower young people to realize their full potential to ensure that they have the resources and support necessary to grow into healthy, responsible adults.
Qualifications
JCYC seeks new board members who are passionate about issues relating to children and youth and dedicated to the provision of quality services to meet their needs. We welcome candidates from all career backgrounds, and particularly encourage candidates with fiscal, fundraising, PR/marketing or local government experience and contacts. Our organization is committed to a Board of Directors that represents the broad diversity of youth served by JCYC programs and strongly encourages candidates of all backgrounds to apply.
Board Responsibilities
Attend monthly board meetings and participate in at least one subcommittee.
Participate in fundraising and strategic planning efforts on behalf of the organization.
