Asian Youth Prevention Services

The Asian Youth Prevention Services (AYPS) Program strives to prevent, delay and reduce the use and abuse of alcohol, tobacco and other drugs (ATOD) among Asian and Pacific Islander youth in San Francisco.

The program is a partnership of the four Asian and Pacific Islander youth service-providing organizations that make up the AYPS Consortium: Japanese Community Youth Council, Community Youth Center, Inc. (CYC), Samoan Community Development Center (SCDC) and Southeast Asian Development Center (SEADC).

AYPS’ strategies enhance participants’ abilities to make informed decisions about ATOD and other risk behaviors.  Current strategies focus on family support, environment prevention, and building youth resiliency.
