JCYC Educational Talent Search

JCYC Educational Talent Search (JCYC ETS) is a federal TRIO program that has been funded by the U.S. Department of Education since 1979. The mission of JCYC is to identify, select and assist low-income youth who have the potential to be the first generation of their family to graduate from high school and enroll in a four-year college or university. 

In 2006, the U.S. Department of Education awarded JCYC ETS another Talent Search grant to serve 500 youth in Daly City and the surrounding San Mateo County area. 

JCYC Educational Talent Search currently serves middle and high school students at the following sites:    

Middle Schools

    • Martin Luther King Jr. Academic Middle School
    • Roosevelt Middle School
  • Daly City
    • Thomas R. Pollicita Middle School 

High Schools

  • San Francisco
    • Balboa High School
    • Galileo Academy of Science and Technology
    • George Washington High School
    • Philip and Sala Burton High School
  • Daly City
    • Jefferson High School 

Services include assistance with college and financial aid applications, college and financial aid presentations, college campus field trips, academic tutoring, SAT/ACT test Information and application assistance, and scholarship searches.
