Protect College Access for Our Youth
By Jon Osaki, Executive Director
Dear JCYC Supporters,
I want to take a moment to address the recent Executive Order signed by President Trump to dismantle the U.S. Department of Education (USDOE). As many of you may know, the majority of JCYC’s College Access Programs are funded through the USDOE. This action, fueled by misguided narratives, puts vital resources for low-income and first-generation college students at risk.
I’m incredibly proud of our College Access staff, who spent this past week walking the halls of Capitol Hill in Washington, D.C., ensuring our Congressional representatives remain focused on protecting education. While the closure of a federal department requires an act of Congress — JCYC needs your help to ensure our representatives hold firm on these vital services.
JCYC will do everything in our power to stand up for the students and families we serve, but we can’t do this alone — we need everyone to send a loud message to Washington DC.
Please take a moment to complete this form to our Congressional representatives. We must stay resolute in protecting education.
Now is the time for all of us to pull together and stand up for what we know is right. I’m counting on you in this moment.
Sincerely,

Jon Osaki
Executive Director
